What Makes A Mary-Sue?I've been posting a lot of essays here, haven't I? Well, I suppose I am a writer by trade, so...What Makes A Mary-Sue? by Kitty-Mikado
I saw a stamp the other day that really got me thinking. This one, to be precise.
In the artist's description, the person goes on to say how every female character is labeled a Mary-Sue no matter what her deal is, and how next to no guy (save Edward Cullen) is a Gary-Stu.
Being in the middle of developing characters myself, and with my girlfriend :iconava-1966: also working on a few, of course we would want to avoid having a Mary-Sue. But... what really makes one?
I realized, just as the artist of that stamp said, you can point at any well-made female OC and call her a Mary-Sue just because you don't like her. Same goes for fan characters.
Oh, she got within a foot of a canon character? She's a sue! Oh, her breast size is bigger than a B-cup? She's a sue! What's that? She's showing a bit of skin? What a sue! Oh, she's pretty? SUE! Oh, she's a shut-in? Self-insert!

shipping wall of desu:
El Shipping wall. Okay, so to avoid spam of my profile, I'll write down some bullshit on here for my oc's, au's and what not. also, their sexuality as well.. ^^ and pics.. will come soon. Multiships are allowed, to avoid 'anger issue' in between people, so they won't argue about their characters and all. I think that's a crack pairing.. idk.. Also, it will feature other oc's too that I support, as my signature said, I support the shipper, not the ship. Get it correct, thank you.
